After a night of festivities and drinking at the Saint David's Day dance at the Students Union in Aberystwyth, a horrific murder on the path leading to Glanymor halls of residence sobers everyone in the town. This is quite a challenge for the inexperienced team from Dyfed-Powys Police, a challenge that places the university and the town on trial. But as they investigate the crime, the police realise that Elenid Lewis had much to hide before her sudden death on the path that night. During the investigation we are led along several trails that take us beyond Aberystwyth - to a chapel in Aberaeron, a manor house in the Aman Valley, a home for the elderly in Cardiff, as well as the Chester underworld and the busy streets of London.
