Y Lolfa is a limited company that publishes books and offers a commercial print service.

What information do we keep and how do we use it?

Contacts

We keep details of authors, business connections, and print and publishing customers in a contacts database on our internal server. We use Mail Chimp to control the list of people who have subscribed to our circular letter. We use the data to give information about new publications, events and special offers relating to Y Lolfa only. We keep the details supplied to us including address, email and phone number. We also keep customers’ order history. We keep the bank details of authors who wish to receive electronic payments (account no. and sort code) so that we can pay them twice a year. We keep pictures of authors and promotional events and author biographies for marketing purposes. We keep the contact details of subscribers to Mellten.

Y Lolfa Directory

This Directory is a database that includes information about Welsh companies and institutions. The Directory is published in our diaries and filofax and publicly on our website www.ylolfa.com. We will from time to time contact the names in the database in order to update our information and to inform them of the advertising terms for our diaries.

This activity belongs to the category “legal business interest” in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who can access the data?

These databases are kept safely on the Lolfa server and via Mail Chimp. Only Y Lolfa staff can see the data and it is not shared with other institutions.

Your rights

If you want to delete your details from any database or from the Lolfa website, you may do that at any time by sending an email to or by writing to Y Lolfa, Talybont, Ceredigion SY24 5HE. All marketing messages from Y Lolfa will include a simple chance to unsubscribe. You are also welcome to access any data we have about you, to correct any errors, and to limit any processing of the data.

We aim to correct or delete any information at no cost within 48 hours of receiving a request within normal office hours.
