Reviews
The Tom the Lion series is an engaging read for young children, with attractive illustrations, and gently addresses serious topics such as the importance of social relationships, awareness, and being physically active. The prose is both accessible and engaging for young children in the first two years of primary school.

Through the engaging storylines, based upon everyday experiences, young children can be encouraged to make connections to their own lives. The stories open up opportunities for children to reflect upon the key underpinning themes, such as relationships, emotions and community.

Without a doubt, these books make an impression. They impressed me, as an adult and an educator, and they will certainly impress children.

I love the way feelings are usualised and reflected upon, from loneliness to happiness, impatience to gratitude. The stories show how simplicity and thoughtfulness are such an important part of our lives. It is excellent that Welsh Education and Y Lolfa are leading the wellbeing way in such a beautiful clear way.

The books give each message across very clearly, with the curriculum links being an added bonus… As we read each book, you could feel a slight buzz of 'what will Tom learn this time?
