From a young age Mary Lloyd Jones always knew that she was born to draw and paint. "I am being an artist," she would say, taking her paintbox out into the valley where she lived. Mary absorbed all the sights and sounds around her, the marks left by mining and farming, the intricate design of her great-grandmother's quilt, the mysterious tales of the local storytellers. Those early experiences helped create an artist known today for her speical use of colour, line and ancient writing.
