A warm, nostalgic novel based around the highly amusing antics of a group of village characters in the working class South Wales Valleys in the 1960s. Trefor, landlord of the Plough Inn, never misses the chance to play a practical joke – some of which get quite out of hand! Gravedigger Fred is never far from trouble and can turn an apparently harmless situation into a rip-roaring escapade without even trying, to the hilarity of everyone else in the pub.
This is author Ken Smith's first novel. While some of the stories are entirely fictitious, others are loosely based on the ridiculous exploits of certain members of the pub fraternity in the village of Rhigos.
