Hywel Griffiths

Hywel was brought up near the village of Llangynog in Carmarthenshire. After attending Llangynog Primary School, Bro Myrddin Secondary School and the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, he now works at Aberystwyth University as a Lecturer in Geography. He won the Chair at the Anglesey Urdd Eisteddfod in 2004 and in Carmarthenshire in 2007. He also won the Crown in the National Eisteddfod in 2008. He is a member of several poetry teams who compete. Hywel is an active member of Cymdeithas yr Iaith and acted as Chair of the movement for a period.
