Gillian Clarke
Gillian Clarke is an accomplished poet, playwright, editor and translator. Born in Cardiff, but now living in Ceredigion, she is a freelance tutor of creative writing and her poetry is studied by students throughout Britain. She was the National Poet of Wales between 2008-16. Her work has been on the GCSE and A Level exam syllabus for the past thirty years, and she performs her poetry regularly for Poetry Live. She was awarded the Queen's Gold medal for Poetry in 2010 and the Wilfred Owen Award in 2012. She has travelled extensively giving readings and lectures, and her work has been translated into ten languages.
