Geraint Thomas

Geraint Thomas was born in Corris, but moved with his family to Ystalyfera at an early age. After periods teaching at Aberdyfi and Penparcau primary schools, he was appointed headteacher at Myfenydd School, Llanrhystud in 1974. He was then appointed headteacher of Talybont School in 1978 and Llwyn yr Eos in 1989. He worked closely with the Urdd and tutored choirs which were successful at the National Eisteddfod. Singing, music, drama and sports as well as the world of education are important aspects of his life.
