Eirwen Gwyn

Born in Liverpool to Annie and William St. John Williams (a dentist and poet), the family moved to Llangefni in 1928. She was educated at the University of Wales Bangor and gained a PhD in X-Ray Cristalography in 1940. She turned her hand to several jobs: a science researcher, physics teacher, an auditor in rural service department, a farmer, lecturer and a frequent broadcaster to name a few. She wrote around 1200 articles, on mainly scientific subjects in Y Cymro, Y Faner, The Scientist and other magazines, as well as several books.
