Sean O'Riain

Originally from Tipperary, the author was awarded his PhD in 1985 for a thesis in Irish and Quebec language policies. Having taught and lectured in Irish before appointment to the diplomatic service, he has served at the Irish Embassy and is a Permanent Representative to the United Nations. He also speaks Welsh, Spanish, Russian, Scottish, Gaelic and Esperanto.
