Robat Gruffudd
Robat was born in the Rhondda and brought up in Swansea. He went to Bangor University where he produced the first issue of 'Lol' magazine with Penri Jones. In 1966 he founded Y Lolfa, where he still works. His novel 'Y Llosgi' won the Daniel Owen Memorial Award (1986) and 'Crac Cymraeg' was on the shortlist for Book of the Year 1996. His fourth novel, Afallon, won the Daniel Owen Memorial Prize at the 2012 National Eisteddfod in the Vale of Glamorgan.
