John Hugh Thomas
John Hugh Thomas has lived a life steeped in music. He founded the renowned Swansea Bach Choir in 1965 and was its conductor for almost five decades. He was lecturer in Music at the universities of Swansea and Cardiff, and Head of Vocal Studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. He was Chorus-Master of the BBC Welsh Chorus; tutor and conductor of the National Youth Choir of Wales; Conductor of the Cardiff Polyphonic Choir and Director of Cardiff University Chamber Choir. He was a committee member of the Swansea Festival of Music and the Arts for several years and is a former President of the Gower Festival.
