Catherine Fisher
Award-winning poet and novelist Catherine Fisher was born in Newport. She has worked as a teacher, an archaeologist and as a lecturer in creative writing. These days she's a full-time writer with an international reputation, and has published many stories for young people and aduls, specialising in history, mth and magic. In October 2011, she was chosen to be the very first Young People's Laureate for Wales. Catherine's previous publications with Pont include The Weather Dress, a picture book for younger children, The Hare and Other Stories, a collection for older readers, and contributions to Dragon Days and A Child's Book of Poems: All Through the Year. Catherine's award-winning novel Incarceron was chosen as The Times Book of the Year.
