Carmel Gahan

Carmel Gahan was born into a family of eleven children in Cork, Ireland, as a daughter to a policeman. She was educated in a nunnery as a teenager before going to the University College in Dublin where she met Meirion Pennar, a young lecturer that soon became her husband. In 2012 Carmel won the Queen's Award for Enterprise Promotion.
