A great way to introduce children to Welsh legends

A new book by illustrator and author Huw Aaron aims to be a fun introduction for children to Wales' rich heritage of legends and folklore.

Find the Dragon! Lost in Welsh Legends (£4.99, Y Lolfa) is full of Huw Aaron’s detailed and humorous pictures. It follows on from the success of his previous book, Find the Dragon!, which well-respected illustrator Chris Riddell described as “a fantastic feast for the eyes”.

The second book in the series sees the little red dragon getting lost in Welsh legends. The aim is to find Boc in each of the 10 double-page illustrations.

The book is packed with different legends, including The Mabinogion, the City Under the Sea (Cantre’r Gwaelod) and the Kingdom of Fairies. There are also over 200 other things to find – plenty to keep eagle-eyed dragon spotters busy for hours.

Author and illustrator Huw Aaron says of the book:
“I thought it was about time that our little red dragon had another adventure. Since I’m such a fan of Welsh legends and enjoy drawing strange and wonderful things, it seemed the obvious choice. I hope that the book will inspire children to go and read more about the stories in the book, and get to know them.”
