Artist Curnow Vosper (1866-1942) was born in the West Country. After art training in Paris, he embarked on a career as an illustrator, etcher and watercolour painter.
Much of his work was inspired by time spent in Brittany. However, a significant group of his paintings were influenced by visits to north Wales. His best-known paintings are "Salem" and "Un cultivateur mecanique".
He exhibited over two hundred watercolours, mainly in London, but the principal collections of his works are now held at the National Museum Wales in Cardiff and Cyfarthfa Castle Museum in Merthyr Tydfil.
This is the first full biography of Curnow Vosper. It has been assembled from varied and fragmentary sources, and contains the largest number of his works ever published in one volume.
