A Guide to Sending Files

If you haven't sent work to Y Lolfa before here are a few points to remember:

PDF files is the most convenient way of sending work, however they must be prepared correctly – as mentioned in the points below.

We can also accept files using the following programmes.

Quark Xpress
In Design (Mac a PC)
Photoshop
Illustrator

If you are sending work in any of these programmes please package the work or use the tool “collect for output”, sending all the additional files as well as the original file to us. This will allow us, should any problems occur, to access the original fonts and images.

We can accept files in other programs such as Word, Publisher, Pagemaker, Freehand and Corel Draw, however there could be an extra charge (@ £30 per hour) to prepare these files to print.

Points to remember when supplying any work to print:

> all images should be in four colours CMYK (not RGB) apart from b/w work.
> Images should have a resolution of at least 300dpi.
> If you are creating a PDF from a PC, the fonts should be either Postscript or Open Type – Give us a ring if you're not sure!
> At least 5mm around the page should be allowed for “bleeds”.
> Crop marks should be placed 6mm from the edge of the page.

We can supply Welsh fonts, free of charge. These include the proper accents on the letters “w” and “y”.

You can send any files of up to 8Mb as an email attachment. If your files are bigger, use the “Sendit” website. Contact us for details.
