Y Lolfa was established in 1967 and quickly gained a reputation as a groundbreaking Welsh publishing company – but our main work is commercial printing. We now employ twenty full-time at our factory in Talybont (nr Aberystwyth), Ceredigion. We have expanded gradually over the years, but remain a company that's small enough to offer a personal, friendly and consciencious service, yet big enough to tackle long runs.

Welsh and bilingual work
One of the advantages of having bilingual staff is that we can tackle work in both Welsh and English with equal confidence. Our experienced graphic designers are used to creating bilingual publications, and know how to tackle any formatting problems. With four editors on our staff, we can help you ensure your job is correct whatever the language you choose.

Books
Unlike big companies with huge overheads, we do not look down at short and medium run books. With both digital and litho presses and specialised finishing and binding equipment we can quote very competitively for 1 – 5,000 copies of a book. With our experience of publishing we're very ready to give free help and advice to companies, institutions and individuals who want to publish independently.

General printing
We earn our bread and butter designing and printing leaflets, posters, reposts, folders and stationery to businesses and movements all over Wales. We also print a number of national magazines and brochures for the tourist trade with runs of up to ½ million. With our B2 sized 5-colour and 2-colour perfecting presses, there's no job that's too big or too small.

Quality
Y Lolfa has won local and national awards for the quality of its print work. The company has quality control procedures in place to ensure consistent quality.

Service
We're small enough to give your work our personal attention – it doesn't get lost in a sea of administrators. Our publishing experience makes us very aware of the need to work to tight deadlines. The internet has meant that location is not all-important and we usually exchange files down the line. We have three vans and can deliver free of charge to anywhere in Wales.

Technology
Y Lolfa has embraced new technology from the sixties onwards and has always taken advantage of new technical developments to improve processes and standards. As well as two top quality presses, Y Lolfa has studios and a bindery that enables the company to tackle most work in-house, including perfect binding and lamination.

The team
Machines and technology are meaningless without staff who are able to handle them. Y Lolfa employs twenty full-time staff, most of whom have decades of experience in the world of design and print. The link to customers old and new is production managaer Paul Williams. Paul has over twenty years' experience as works manager and has an intimate knowledge of all production processes.
